A round punch was used to mark circles on 1mm thick circles of sterling silver. The circle was domed and then soldered on to a 0.5mm circle of silver sheet which fitted inside the dome. Earring pins were then soldered onto the back and the earrings pickled before being oxidised using liver of sulphur. Excess oxidation was removed using a dremel felt and finally the earrings were burnished to bring out the highlights in the silver texture.
The punch marks were closer than on the square earrings of the same manufacturing process which gives a different effect.
The earring findings came from Cooksons.
