We had been playing with porcelain - carrying out saggar firings in the forge, having wrapped the ceramic pieces in copper wire. (See the results of one particular day of playing with Ebba and paper clay here)
It was only a matter of time before we moved from making small boxes to small pieces which could be set as stones in rings ... and here is the result. The surface finish is quite fragile and so the ring is not that practical - it was more a case of my desire to merge both ceramics and silversmithing in one item, and to see what emerged.
